Babies


This month we are inquiring with our 5 senses!

We will be looking at sparkly colours, such as gold and silver

We will be tasting foods of different textures and flavours, for example sweet or bitter

We will be listening to lullabies and many stories!

We will be investigating how objects feel when we touch them

We will be making edible paint which we can smell

We will be introducing the words 'eye' 'ears' 'nose' and 'mouth'

At home with your child you could you could talk to your child about what you can see or hear. For example, when you see a bird in the garden, mention this and ask what else they can see?




Toddlers


This month we will be inquiring into the changing seasons, focusing on the change between Autumn and Winter

We will be singing a range of seasonal and weather songs such as 'Autumn leaves' and 'Frosty the Snowman'

We will be observing changes in the world around us, such as the weather and temperature

We will be discussing how we adapt to change. For example, in the winter, we wear hats and scarves

At home with your child you could with your child you could discuss what you can see or notice on the way to nursery. For example, talking about the frosty windscreen in the mornings and why this might happen

All children will be doing individually planned activities daily.

We will be reading a selection of books, such as 'The Diwali Gift' and the 'The Night Before Christmas'

We will be discussing the similarities and differences in the ways in which we celebrate

We will be creating our own decorations and tasting traditional foods associated with celebrations

Our word of the month is 'tradition'

At home with your child you could talk about how your family celebrates throughout the year and what family traditions you have. For example, making a gingerbread house before Christmas.
